Eliana's Disability Reflection

So far, the class has been great throughout the weeks. My group’s presentation on the chapter was amazing and we did awesome! After all the presentations were done, we received our second presentation which is a theme project on disability awareness. I like how we are given the chance to speak on something that is barely spoken about. Each group received different disabilities such as visual or mobility and many more. We were given the task to create an awareness poster and brochure alongside with a PowerPoint presentation. It was good for a presentation to bring awareness and it showed me the several types of disabilities, I actually enjoyed it!

As always, the first group goes first! They had the chance to talk about mobility, spinal and head disabilities. At the beginning, they started off so well by having valuable information that did not take up the whole screen. This presentation was way better and more organized than the first presentation for sure. Their work was in just one PowerPoint presentation this time and they worked well when it came to who was next. Their poster and brochure were so informational and highly creative. Obviously not everyone is perfect so there were some flaws such as they went into every single little detail about the disability they had, and the interview was only mentioned once by just one person. Overall, group one did good and presented really well.

Then the best group was up to present, group two (ha-ha I am joking, or am I?)! We had to present on visual and hearing disabilities. Based on our class leaders’ presentation, in which they had to critique us, our poster and brochure looked amazing! They are not wrong because our group has creative people who used it to their best abilities, and it really showed. I really liked how our PowerPoint came out because it looked so professional and colorful. We also had our flaws in which the class leaders talked about which concerned our interview slides. They stated that our slides on the interview were a bit clustered together and hard to read. They also stated that it was most likely a technical issue as to why that happened. Group two did an awesome job, we worked really hard on presentation and at the end it came out so beautiful.

Lastly up to present was group three. They spoke on cognitive, psychological, and invisible disabilities. I really enjoyed their poster because it was so visually pleasing, and their brochure was super informational which is also a plus. Group three’s presentation was good information wise! Their first interview was so professionally done and showed how credible the interviewee was. Once again with the flaws but everyone has them, the second interviewee was barely spoken on and there was no citation at the end. Group three had a lot of pressure on them as they were last people to present but they did a wonderful job!

By surprise, the class leaders had to present a PowerPoint where they had to critique the groups in which I stated in my previous paragraphs. They hit some of us with the good things from our presentations and the bad things. Thank god, they were mostly the good things! They really pointed out where every group did wrong, but it is always nice to get some feedback from a presentation so in the future one knows what to fix.

In conclusion, the theme presentations were good, and they all looked amazing in their own way. I am so proud of us for getting to this point and finally finishing it! We really did that!

WE DID IT!! 🎉🎉🎉 We reached our goal for... - Corbell Elementary ...
