Hannah's Disability Reflection
Hello! Welcome back to part two of my project reflection. Unlike last time,
where I stated how easily our group worked together, we struggled a bit more
with the disability project. This is not because the topic was difficult but
because the amount of information needed to cover was very large. We had a
difficult time splitting up the work in an effective way that would make sense
and look organized when presenting. We then all decided that it would be best
if we split it up according to task, so everyone chose what they would work on:
brochure, poster, or study guide and agenda. Once everyone completed their
assigned job, it was sent to the class leaders and we moved on to the PowerPoint.
Then we each chose a side, either vision or hearing, there was no discussion or
argument when selecting (everyone just chose a side, and it worked well).
Following this we made a google slide and split it up, giving it the same
amount of slides to each topic (around 16 for hearing and another 16 for
vision). Over the course of a few days I noticed that Yuni and I were the only
people that have done our part in the PowerPoint, this kind of concerned me but
I knew that our group was going to get it done.
Presenting
day came and I was starting to get pretty nervous, I had rehearsed and knew
what I was going to say so that calmed me a bit. I always struggled when
presenting, sounding like I was on a massage chair is not very professional. My
voice always starts shaking either right when I start talking or towards the
end. This time I was able to control it more, which surprised me :) I only
started shaking towards the very very end and it was minimal! I can only
imagine that if this class was in person I would have been quaking, but I really
want to slowly desensitize myself to public speaking.

My favorite presentation between group 1 and 3 was group 1. Not only because their presentation was talked about in a way that did not lose my attention but because their topic was really interesting to me. Like I stated in the previous review, psychology is very interesting to me and when I took psych we were taught what group 1 went over. Even though you would expect that since I already learned it I would not be paying attention as much, that was not the case. I actually really enjoyed the refresher and really made me want to focus.
Overall I had lots of fun in this project, not
only learning about the blind and deaf but also making something that would be
able to spread awareness. Research is very important allowing for ways to help
the disabled and ways to make their lives much easier.

This was great. I am so glad that you enjoyed doing your wonderful presentation.
